81 float bowls

has anyone polished the 81 float bowl drain seats ?
I've two float bowls that must have been idle for long enough that the acids in the old fuel ate into the seats. I replaced the drain needles but no go, polished the seats with a Q-tip and Flitz in a drill no go, still leak .

Just to 'get you by' till u find some decent cond. float bowls, did you replace those teeny O-rings on the seat screws and give it a go?.....JAT.

Yes the new drain needles came with O-rings, or did I order the O-rings separate, either way the O-rings are with the new needles and still leak. I've an extra set of bowls and am using two of them to replace the leaking ones.
Just didn't want to turn them in to the re-cycler for beer cans.
