Finally had time this weekend to get everything put together and bleed the brakes. Took her a little spin around the neighborhood and WOW!, she's a blast!!! Still a bit more work to do to get her ready for prime time, need to rebuild the brakes, a lot of electrical, and get my front fender and fairing painted and put on, but I am really excited!

Forcing myself to take a break from work and going to the XS Southeast Rally has been one of the best decisions I ever made, thanks for all the help!!!

Thanks guys! Still a few things left to do, I still have to paint and add my front fender and fairing, so I don't think that this will be the final look, but it's after a great start.

It felt great to ride it though, @kboehringer Kurt was kind enough to let me ride one of his bikes at the rally, but aside from that, I hadn't really ridden an XS11 in 6 years. Hopefully with a little more work I can have it ready for street duty, and maybe a track day or two... I started with the intention of making this a race bike, but, I don't know. It is really my only bike right now and with as much work as I have done to it, I'd hate to see it sliding down the road, but we'll see.

So I finally have all the major parts in to finish the bike. Anyone up for an install meet? I'm trying to get this thing done before I leave for Germany in July.

I wish I could get down there but no way.

                          Superbike pics

Glad you posted up on your thread, mate. For some reason, there's only 2 pages of threads to be found on the XS/XJ discussion board and yours had been lost until now
Nice looking chaindrive kit you have there. Here's a pic of the bike they were created for

                          [IMG][/IMG]

Yep, it's the real deal, photographed at the recent "not the Barry Sheene Memorial meeting" at Eastern Creek race track, Sydney

and here's another one that utilised a set of the original castings to make this -

For long term members on this site, this bike was previously painted Laverda Orange. I'm eagerly awaiting the results from his latest dyno readout to see how much of a difference the changes have made

Nice!........gotta like how that XS11 motor pulls away from the KZ motor on the 'big end'. No surprise there.

                                Latest incarnation
I put this up in the members lounge in Bryans original thread, but it looks like no-one looks on there nowadays

This is Bryans latest version of his 80G

it once looked like this when it did the 107hp dyno run

The really interesting bit is here, the latest dyno readout ,

the green curve is from 2012 when last on this particular dyno -

"The red and blue are today's before and after re-jetting/fiddling - (red before/blue after)
The main gain is in the mid range - 10hp/10ft/lbs torque (approx) at 5500rpm - right where we want to use it....brilliant result, I reckon
the air/fuel ratio is the other graph - apparently mine is a bit rich cruising but to fiddle with that will mean losses at other revs (optimal is apparently between 12.8 and 13.2 to one)

                                BTW I'm doing 105km/h at 3500rpm"

The full story of the build is here, but the majority of the photos in the early stages have gone to the Photobucket graveyard - http://xs1100.com.au/forum/index.php?topic=2804.0
                                Very impressive indeed
