Hi everybody . . .
Well, I've been refurbishing over the winter months my fall purchase of a low miles 79F. I was told that the brakes had been done a few years back (3?) before I bought it, but it may just have been replacing the brake fluid.
I did drive it a few times before tearing into it, and the brakes seem to work OK, and there are no signs of leakage anywhere.
I do know it has the original lines, which are now 38 years +. So I am figuring on replacing those, but don't know whether to go to stainless steel or rubber for that original feel.
I am thinking about replacing the brake pads, because I would assume 38 year old pads would want to crumble.
I do not know whether to do a rebuild on the master cylinders and wheel cylinders, as this gets technical and expensive. This is where I need to ask for some guidance for those of you who have BTADT! (Been there and done that!)
Your thoughts ? ? ? ? Thanks!
