  • Petcock filters

Pulled the petcocks for rebuilding. They do not have filter screens on them. Just plastic standpipes. Anyone seen this before? Is this a problem if I use inline filters? Thanks

Nope, haven't seen before......and inline filters DEFINITELY needed! Without the stand-up screens, doubt going from ON to RESERVE would make any difference........when it starts stumbling from low-low fuel when in ON position.....your done...(out of fuel).

Would it make a difference only using inline filters? I suppose the tower filters could help keep crud away from the holey gasket in the petcocks.

Good point. I hadn't considered the importance of keeping the petcocks dirt free. Thanks

As far as fuel supply......nope! His having someone just use plastic stand tubes, when fuel level reaches top of those stand tubes.......it's done....gonna have to just push the scoot, or hold your thumb out for a ride.
