  • Dumb question . . . Side covers

Hi again, I am not sure how to remove the rectangular clips that hold on the side cover emblems without breaking something. Ideas?

Use a fine jewellers screwdriver to pry open the prongs that are biting into the plastic shaft. Open them carefully, just enough to get a bit of slack, then you should be able to "unscrew" them while gently pulling.

the left side cover is locked with a key..the ignition key..look down at the lower tab holding the cover in place...theres a keyhole down there...ususalluy has a little cover over it to keep the dirt out...unless yours is already broken then you'll need to un lock the left side cover

          if you

mess those clips up, they can still be purchased. The main thing is don't try to save the clip at the expense of the plastic prong. the clips can be purchase from parts n more, or bike bandit or other web sites.

The bolt section at Ace or Tru-Value also has them in the specialty drawers.
