I have a set of 2000 ZRX carbs off an 1100 and the spacing is perfect. I had to go up one size on the pilot jets and you have to fabricate something for the throttle cable/carb hook up. They have a slightly bigger bore and run great. YMMV
I looked up both sets of carbs...I've heard that the BST36SS' hook up perfectly (from 88'-92 sorts of Suzuki's)??? I've already actually looked up the fitment and jetting on both...seems like i'd get more HP out of the GSXR's though?? can anyone verify this?? i'm about to start on the rebuild, and carbs are the LAST thing I need to worry about on it...I just want to be prepared!!

      also...

redbandit...i'm gonna probably run stacks on the modded / racing bike. not sweating intake (if you mean the stock air box)!

EDIT...are you talking about the airbox, or carb-boots?? apparently, the BST36's line up with the carb boots correctly, but have oval-shaped intakes?? or do I have this reversed??!

Post #14, the GXSR carbs do not line up with the 11 manifold boots. The spacing between the carbs and manifold boots doesn't match.

Maybe an easy fix for the ZRX carbs cable fab is getting a ZRX twist grip & cable. I don't know, I never tried it.

CLARIFICATION: I tried 95 GSXR 1100 carbs. NOT GXSR. I don't know if there is GXSR??? I apologize for any confusion. I red the reports that GSXR fit. They do not. The spacing is all wrong.

I knda new to the experience myself...

I wish I had some solid advice lend ERM83, I'm new to the XS/XJ thing myself, started in 2010 but yep it go's way back to when we were kids growing up. I do have to agree with the no frame mod though, they are heavy and powerful as you well know. for me at the moment, its hanging some of the original parts back on the bikes to help them maintain the value spectrum. I have a couple of pics of the same bike before and after I got my hands on it and the third (SlvBob) is another misfit I salvaged from the scrap yard, it was in similar condition as the one I call BlkBob...

these are works in process and my intent is to give them all a second chance at riding the center line...

good luck with your builds and yes, the guy's here are wonderful and well versed regarding these monsters...
