Just learned the hard way that basic maintenance has to be kept up on. Was playing with my bike and ripped out the splines from the drive shaft to the final drive, had to have been 20yrs since it had had grease in it. Rust and sparkle crap YEAAAAA!!!!! Any way, u need to know if the final drives from these are universal, or if I should Rob the one off the xs750 I've got stashed away. If anyone has one for sale shaft+final drive, I'd rather keep my parts search here than eBay or Amazon. Any help is good help, thanks guys

Hey Ranger,
The final drives and shafts are universal amongst all of the XS11's, including the drive ratios. NOW, if you want to have a ratio that drops your top gear rpms by several hundred or more, then you can use the 750 final drive....but will take some mild modding to make it work. There's a tech tip on it for details.
But for a simple repair/replacement, just get another XS11 final drive and driveshaft.
Contact Andreas Weiss....he's a parts broker that comes highly recommended by this site and the membership. IF he doesn't have it, then you can check with eBay. But several members have done the 750/850 final drive swap, and have their old xS11 final drive available, perhaps they'll post a reply to this thread.
