Ok I had my first lay down in over 25 years. If I had to pick a place to go off the high side of a corner I couldn't have found a better place. Soft dirt,8 inch long grass and no rocks. I'm ok but embarrassed as the cause was a pure dumb ass attack. The dreaded kick stand monster bite me on the first left hander in the road. Bent the handle bars pretty bad but we loosened them and pushed them forward to clear the tank. Clutch handle was broken so the 25 mile home ride was a challenge to say the least. No other damage beside a bruised hand and ego. Anyway does anyone have a set of either buckhorns or standard bars that are stright and not rusted? PM me if you do

Lucky you missed any delineator posts or anything like that! Yeah, just take the sidestand off and lean the bike against a pole (kidding). Clutch levers are cheap. Sorry I can't help with bars because I no longer have my parts bike. The buckhorns are terrible! Go for something else.Skids (Sid Hansen)

Glad you're okay. I threw all my handlebars away in the trash a few years ago. Grab a Bikemaster handlebar from your local bike shop, or off Amazon. They go for less than $30. Did you break the perch too, or just the handle? Perch can be grabbed from other XS bikes as-well.1979 XS1100F

Hope your hand heals up OK and you aren't too sore in the next few days. At least you could limp it home though pita with bent up apparatus.

Where in NC are you? My location is in my signature.
I have a brand new buckhorn that I tried on my FJR1300 and it did not satisfy me so it went on the shelf. Its wrapped in the mesh sock thingy. I modified my FJR1300 to use 3/4" old-school handlebars and tried a few before I found what I liked.
It is just about exactly the same shape and angles etc as my XJ1100 handlebars by eyeballing it.82 XJ1100 - sold

Ok
Glad you can share this.
I had my 2nd major crash 35 years later and many kinds of bikes in between on a Sunday night riding an 81 XS11LH. 35 years ago it was a Sunday night riding a 79 XS11SF. Hence the name, someday I feel I will be donebysunday, also covers my initials dbs and I always seem to complete bikes by Sunday.
