The only thing you will need to do is remove the actuator rod from the enricher and swap it between the two banks. The XJ uses the cable, and the '80 has the lever on #1 carb. Just swap everything out, and you can put the '80 carbs on the XJ when your ready.

      A couple other differences.....

      ccjj7,
I purchased a set of XJ Carbs and have them set-up as spares for my XS11's. A good set of spare carbs is like GOLD so at a mere $100 I couldn't pass 'em up and was willing to make the necessary changes.

In addition to the enricher rod itself there are a couple other differences.

The XJ carb #1 has the mounting points for the XS enricher lever but the post holes are not tapped. Easy to do and once they are tapped the carbs can still go back & forth between the XS & XJ with ease......

The XJ Carb #1 & #4 are not drilled for the spring & ball that holds the XS enricher rod in the detents on its rod. Also an easy drilling process but you will obviously need to be slow and careful. I used a bit covered with a wrap of tape at the proper depth to be sure I didn't go too far! Again, easy to pull the springs & balls if they need to go back on the XJ.....

I believe the interchange section has a write up by Crazy Steve showing these additional two differences in great detail......
