  • Sportster mufflers

    Anyone had issues with Sportster mufflers being too restrictive for an XS11.

    Had some problems at about 3000 rpms but I didn't have the crossover pipe. I didn't like the sound so I didn't mess withe the carbs to adjust.

    Down to one 1978 E. Stock air box with K&N filter, 81H pipes and carbs, 8500 feet elevation.

      These baffles have tiny little holes in them and some sort of plug in the middle of the baffle. I think someone told me that plug needs to be removed but I don't recall who it was. Sucks getting old.

      Been fooling with the carbs on this other SG trying to get it running exactly right but no matter what I do it has running issues when it gets warmed up good.

      I'm gonna pull these muffs of and see if it makes a difference. It's not making sense to me.
