Did you have both cams in the head?? That's how I bent mine once, didn't realize that the intake and exhaust valves couldn't occupy the same space as the same time!Originally posted by BA80 View Post
I had both cams in, and rotated one which caused a valve to come out and hit one that was already sticking out. Didn't find out during my 2000 rebuild until after I had it all together and found 0 compression during a prestart test! Had to tear it back down to replace the valve.
Sorry, all of my shims are 280+ in sizes.

We had the new head installed and all the valves were WAY too tight. We were removing the cams to put thinner shims in to at least be able to get a measurement and Doc had removed the tensioner before we got the cam gears off. Had to turn the cams (crankshaft) to get to the gear bolts and the chain slipped before I realized the tensioner was out.
At least it was only one.
