When removing the front foot peg mounting bracket do I need to support the engine with a jack in order to remove the 17mm bolt? It doesn't want to come out and then it hit me that this particular bolt might be used as part of the engine support. This is on a 1980 Special. Thanks for any help or advice.

What I do is just take a little bit of pressure off with the jack. 1/4 turn at a time (with a scissors jack) until the bolt slide out by hand. A short block of wood helps, as you need to support the very back, not the entire engine.Ray Matteis
