  • It.....is.....aliiiiiive !!!

    She lives and breathes again.

Swamp Thing roared to life today. She's running like a champ. A bit pilot hungry, though. I'm idling and synced up smooth with the pilots three turns out. I'll have her truly dialed in when I get her on the road.

Thanks to all of you for the help over the past few months, and I'm sure in the future.

    See some of you soon,

    Randy.

P.S. If you ever clean your mechanical advance mechanism and after you put it back on, your engine won't start but backfires through the carbs, pull the mechanism, remove the snap ring and turn the reluctor 180 degrees. Don't ask how I know.

Just an update, guys. Had the Swamp Thing on the road this weekend.

Looks like K&N can chalk up another victim.

Pilots are wacky, good idle and strong rev-up in neutral, but try to accelerate in gear and I get stumble, pop, even 3 full turns out. Above 3K rpm she pulls like mad.

I had bought the K&N kits way back in Dec, before I joined the forum.

I'll be installing the original pilot jets this coming weekend!

          Cheers,

          Randy
