1980 wiring, lights on/off switch

Hey guys,
figuring out wiring on this '80 bike I have (not special)

It was a previous project that had been cut off in the tail of bike, no lights on the rear just cut wires. PO had lost the key, wired in a toggle SW by the battery to turn the bike on/off, then later found the key.

I think I have the wiring near the battery that had been wired aftermarket figured, now the stock key in ignition turns power on/off as it should.

but I've got some questions.

There is 'main switch' with 4 wires in the bottom left of picture, and there is the 'ignition shut off' near the top left of that pic with only two wires going to it (and this is different from the kill switch).

What is the ignition key switch? (which one is that in the picture and how many wires?)

My specific bike, it has right hand control switch by the throttle labeled 'lights' on/off, 3 wires coming from the switch.
Is this possibly from another bike, or what is it labeled as in the diagram/how are the 3 wires wired?

Previously when my bike was turned on, the headlight came on.. now the headlight is never working (when key is turned on the neutral and oil light illuminate on the gauge cluster). Not 100% sure what changed since it worked last, not getting voltage now at headlight wiring. Light switch on the right side just has the 3 wires hanging..

I can post some specific pics/wire questions when I'm at my shop tomorrow.

The headlight will not come on until the bike is running on the stock system. The key on the '80 uses 4 wires, my '79's used 3 I know. 2 wires should go the the "tip over" switch, a square box above the coils with an arrow pointing up for mount position, it's called Emergency stop switch. There is a Diode hidden in the wire harness that goes from a white on the stator to the relay for the lights. This is what turns the headlights on, once the engine has started. Once on, they will stay on so you can test by jumping 12V to the white at the relay with the ignition on and the headlight should come on.

That makes a lot more sense now.. I had wired that lights on/off switch trying different things and it would cause the headlight to come on but then not turn off when I turned the switch off, wasn't making sense to me... duh, diode

Maybe I can wire this switch to a set of fog lights or something if I want.


the only unplugged connectors I have up front, a red wire and two blue wires into one.


This out the harness here under seat, a brown wire and a green wire and a black wire with the connector cut off. I'll use a volt meter to check for some grounds first, black wire supposed to be grounded?


Wires in the back I need to figure out: blinkers, tail/brake light, license plate light. There are three blacks, a blue, and two yellows here:


And These two wires were taped up and smashed/hanging under the seat. The brown with yellow stripe and red with yellow stripe:


That's where I'm currently at.

Blinkers

In your third picture, those look to be turn signal wires. Green for one side Brown for the other. The black should have a 2 receptacle end on it for the common ground.
