A little help given
So i got a chance to stop by today for about an hour and helped TC get the engine into the frame. He'll be quite busy putting the rest together. I told him I'd stop by tomorrow afternoon and see if he needs more help.Leave a comment:

Great offer George but you know it might just be better to stop by as TC is the type always giving help not often asking.
Now the way you phrased it I just can't really help myself. TC is right down to the wire getting all this work done so be there to help!

I am curious TC
did you start out with painted or chromed fenders? I know that chrome can be a bear to keep paint. I really like the way you are blending the colors through out your theme, wonderful...

Looking forward to seein the final product!Okay, another four hours tonight, got the new tire on the rear rim, filled with balancing beads and put on new air valve. Then proceeded to wire brush off the old yellowed clear coat that I had put on the rims to keep them looking kinda polished!
Got them cleaned and the basic black paint, hoping to do the custom work on it tomorrow. I was wanting to start assembling the bike tomorrow, but not sure I'll be able to with fresh custom paint on them.
Also need to clean and then paint the rotor bolts as well, along with the valve cover bolts, and some other engine cover bolts.
Plus it's supposed to be a bit warmer/hotter tomorrow, so I may have to start actual assembly on Thursday, and I'll probably spend an all nighter Friday to be able to get it ready to go to the inspection station on Saturday!

Update!
Hey folks,
Been working hard this weekend, and it was hot/muggy again! Got the engine out of the stand/frame, got it cleaned up and painted. Got the fenders,tank, side covers painted yesterday. It took ALL 3 of the custom mixed rattle cans worth to get them fully covered!
The guy had recommended BLACK for the sandable primer, and it was hard to get covered so that it didn't show thru! It's definitely not perfect, and no where as good as what Kurt does. It'll be a ten footer for sure, but will stand out from a distance.
Here are the requisite photos! This first one was just the paint.
I was able to shoot the clear today, cooler dryer temps...wet sanded first. Also you're getting a peek preview of the other parts that I've done some custom work on!
Tonight, aside from shooting the clear, I got into making the Polyurethane inserts for the engine mounts. This first one shows me turning the stuff on my lathe down to the 28mm diameter size.
Here's an old one....you can see the rubbed/worn flat spot on one edge...you can't even see any ridges in the rubber on that side, and next to it is the polyurethane insert. The urethane is rather hard/firm....so it'll be closer to solid mounts without necessarily being solid METAL!

Once upon a time I was heavy grinding on some exhaust under my car. I had a good set of googles on but got some hot metal on my neck and rolled out jerking off the googles and the strap threw a piece of that hot 36 grit into the center of my eye where it immediately attached. Being a holiday weekend the base sick call set it up for me to see the doctor at 7:30 the next morning. Well that night the grit cut all kinds of scratches in my eye lid and at 2:00 I had to go to the hospital. So even googles can get you and never let anyone get you to put off an issue with your eyes. The grit came out easy resurfaced easy and the scratches took days and hurt like hell felt worse than a poke in the eye.
