Exhaust Temperature

Exhaust temperature will be well over any of the engine paint temperature rating. Most exhaust paint will become a flat finish look once heat cycled. Best results is to let it dry thoroughly before starting engine. Exhaust temperature can reach 1200-1400 degrees.

I don't think a rectangular/square groove for an oring is a problem. The OEM oil filter cup/canister is rectangular. The depth and diameter is important.
