I have plastic Tourer saddlebags on my G. One side had some blistering in the paint job I gave it to sort-of match the bike. This weekend I decided to clean them up a bit.
I sanded down the surface, but the blisters were also pits, so I gave them several coats of black primer and sanding. Got the pits filled in, nice smooth surface.
Started putting on coats of Metallic Black, which is pretty close to the original tank paint. Layer, wet sand, layer, wet sand, then another coat. It was looking pretty good!
One last wet sand, then a finish coat. I start spraying, but it is looking strange...irregular, blotchy. I put some more on, then...I have picked up the wrong can and am spraying primer over my gloss! The whole thing starts to alligator...looks almost like leather.
Just venting...guess I can get back to sanding.
