Starter

So my positive battery terminal was melting over the course of the summer so I took the starter apart. After the checks, upon assembly, do you use moly on the gears or regular grease or is lithium white grease better?

I just use regular grease, but YMMV. I used to use a lot of the white lithium, but it dries out and gets pretty gummy/nasty. Also, don't forget a tiny dab here to keep your starter from sounding like a dying goose.

regular or moly! The lithium was a good tip big. Hard to visualize how fast these gears turn. I'm thinking moly to protect the gears But I'm not a starter rebuilder. Just wanted to check so I'm not putting a draw on the system which is adequate at best!
