  • 1st ride/yr

First ride of the year. I took the carbs off and cleaned them about a week ago only because I can't remember how many years it's been since the last time. Anyway, I turned the key on and hit the button and it cranked and cranked. No fire, not even a pop. The thought WTF??? On yeah. I wonder if it would help if I put the choke on. Duh. It fired right up, I took her for a ride and it ran great and that's with the gas that was in it in Oct. And I never use any gas stabilizer.

Great thing when it roars to life, then drives like it did before you parked it in the fall.

Well done. Good to get back in the saddle for another season. With clean carbs too.
Yeah, a bit of choke works wonders.

Nice!.......now, once warmed up, setting a box fan in front of motor, re-set idle mix screws and re-sync for max. smoothness.

One carb body had 2 little pieces of crud stuck to the inside of the bowl area. Otherwise they looked clean. No sediment in the bowls. I'm going to use up the old gas before I refill. I planned a resync, just wanted to ride.

I took my bike out on Monday after letting it sit in my storage shed all winter.First ride to work this year, bike ran very good except for 1 thing.I installed a Pingel fuel valve and the hose that connects to the carb bung came off leaving me temporarily stuck.Pop it back on and it started up.Will need to replace the hose as it keeps coming off. Also the vacuum caps need to be replaced from sitting. Will do that tomorrow.
