If I'm not mistaken, the XS750-850 used the same rear rotors as the XS. You may have better luck finding one of those. Don't let the salvage yard guys know that you really need it bad, or they will jack up the price.

Why do my "fixers" always come with pitted inner-fork tubes as well? I wonder if I could epoxy and sand or something...

I talked to a guy that works for a hydraulics components repair business, and he said they could fill and resurface the inner forks on an XJ1100 that I was going to restore. They would repair it the same way they would the rod on a hydraulic cylinder.

Do you know how much it would cost? Probably prohibitive.

Can't remember..killed too many brain cells since then...probably cheaper than buying new ones though. They said the process was called flame welding. Maybe you could look in the yellow pages for a hydraulics repair shop, and ask them if they could do it.

Okay, I discovered more about the condition of the rear brake rotor on this beast.

It appears that the PO (the POs neglect/destroy every XS I ever find) must not have changed the rear brakes forever. The ridges and rings and condition of the brake rotor is a result of the brake pads being worn far past wear limits such that the backing plates behind the pad material become exposed and are ground into the rotor.
