  • Special vs. Sport Tarozzi rearsets

Rearsets - Fixed, Knurled Footpegs Yamaha XS1100S Sport 1982

    Fast from the Past

These are for the 1982 XS1100 Sport. Does anyone here know if they would be a straight bolt-up for the Special?

Do you have dimensions? Distance between the holes? At first glance I'd say these don't fit. Look like they're meant for the Kawasaki z1 / 900 / 1000.
    XS1100 3X0 '82 restomod, 2H9 '78 chain drive racer, 3H3 '79 customized.
    MV Agusta Brutale 910R '06.
    Triumph 1200 Speed Trophy '91, Triumph 1200 '93.
    Z1 '73 restomod, Z1A '74 yellow/green, KZ900 A4 '76 green.
    Yamaha MT-09 Tracer '15 grey.
Kawasaki Z1300 DFI '84 modified, red.

      Special

This would be easier if the paper showed how they're mounted. Next time I'll post bolt hole spacing dimensions.

Math, you may not be able to judge from the pictures the sellers show, they may be generic pictures showing any set of rearsets.

Looking at their website they are listed specifically for the '82 Sport, if you bought them and they didn't fit a Sport the seller would be liable.

The question is do they fit a Special? I'd say yes as the ali footrest/exhaust hanger from Yamaha is the same part number for Sport and Special, therefore the hole centres must be the same.

AND...... funnily enough one of the UK guys, Deano, is selling a set of RAASK rearsets for a Sport, maybe cheaper.

That's exactly the info I was hoping for! Fast From the Past is close enough that I'd actually go walk through the door and get what I need.

The Sport was only in Oceania and Europe. Tarozzi does not supply parts for Maxims or Specials. At least, not on purpose. The Sport fork brace fits the Special, too. Tarozzi has one of those, too!

Not quite the same Special, the Sport footrest/exhaust hangers are....

              4W1-27420-00-00

They are painted black the same as the XS1100LH and have the same detail groove.

Check that the LH and your Special have the same frame hole centres

Actually, it looks more exciting today to some of us than it did then. It was actually falling behind the times, or at least, its days were numbered.

Just the same, I agree. The Sport is gorgeous!
