Looking to change my stock turn signals, front and back. Wanted to see what you guys have done. Im looking for something a bit more sleek. Would love to see some pics.

Hi adelii,
There are some nice aftermarket turn signals. The concern is always that turn signals are part of your safety net while on the road surrounded by drivers that do not see you.
So BIGGER and BRIGHTER is BETTER.
Add a strip of LED lights as well to supplement any smaller turn signals you might choose.

After you look thru it, you'll better understand why we like to suggest good sized lights, and not those little slits of signals that the unknowing like to put
on bikes like crotchrockets!

Well in keeping with what everyone here has written I did something a bit different years ago with some stock signals. I changed the lenses to clear and used amber bulbs and then I shortened the stalks to bring them closer in. Still very visible but not just sticking out there like the OEM ones.

Are the clear lenses the aftermarket ones available for Virago's and the XVS cruiser range ?

Front signals look nice as does rest of bike. Just remeber, 18" apart IS DOT regulations for signal lenses.

It has been so long that I do not remember the part numbers. As I recall they were for an XS 650 and I used a Dennis Kirk catalogue to cross reference the numbers as there were no clear lenses listed for the XS11. I used the amber numbers to cross reference then picked a clear lens that fit that particular application.

I'm using the LED ones...and had to double up in the back for the brake lights...If you go with the LED don't skimp...and always filter out anything coming from China

I give up! Did you even look at the tech tip about NOT BEING SEEN?! People out there are BLIND as well as very inattentive to say the least. SMALL lights are a sure fire way to get you RUN OVER from the rear while stopped at a light because some A$$hole in a 2+ton SUV is texting and your little round brake light doesn't register in his peripheral vision, and he PLOWS right over you. IT's your bike, and your life, good luck!

One alternative that I have seen to having the mass of lights is using the Red & Yellow LED light strips to add hidden lights that still make it very clear that your moving lanes, or stopping. It is for the very reason of what your saying about limited visibility (and I liked the link you posted...after 18000 miles on a bike it still amazes me how even a semi truck can miss you when your 40 yards away) that I have added additional lights to the back after concerned people from work mentioned that they were unable to see when I was braking.



I will post up more pics once I finish putting everything back on the bike so you can see how I'm lighting it up...and what it looks like during the day and at night. Safety must always be first on these bikes.
