Yeah after reading a lot on tire reviews the Spitfires seem to be a decent middle of the road tire. I think I'll give them a try.

Over a 35yr. period, I've had many different brand names on my Venturer. The Conti Go's ARE at the top of the list whether on the high speed 'slab' OR mountain twisties!
Plus front and rear ARE taller AND wider(.015 clearance of shaft tube on rear).
I'm GAME for a test. GAME ON

My Avons performed extremely well with my stiffer sporty suspension. Avons got me 14,000 miles of smiles Front & 11,000 on Rear tire. 40psi front & rear
Could squeak out another 500 if needed. Even quite surprised I got to Key West and back without seeing cord. I'm amazed with mileage & performance I got.
Rode just yesterday with Marty & Brent and they can attest the Avons still perform, even with high miles.

Anyways, my new Conti Go's & new tubes (11E of course) just arrived. So I'm going to switch from the British made Avons to the Korean made Conti's.
So the TEST IS ON. will flush fork oil & adjust the race tech emulators after a couple mountain test runs on the Go's.

Actually the Shinko that many run is a fine tire too -and- performs well. Maybe from the same factory as the Continentals.
actually any tire that is round, fits rim specs, holds air, can be balanced is more than good.
As we all frequently discuss, these are public roads and are dangerous enough without adding risks of speed.
