In that case Brian, the Euro Standard bars will be perfect for you.

If you're really struggling to get narrow bars try any European country Ebay. If you find some in UK that won't post to US let me know and I can ship them on to you but it won't be cheap $$$$

Cheaper to get some narrow bars on your side of the pond.

Bikemaster actually makes a 7/8" "Euro" bar. I used them for a while, very comfy. Ended-up going to Superbike or Daytona bars. Forget what I have on there.

Gee Ian, Looks like the only similarity between the Yamaha Euro bars and the Bikemaster "Euro" bars is the name, and the thickness of the tubing they're made of.

Eveready1100, you happen to have measurements on the Euro bar?

Now that I'm thinking about it, the bar looks suspiciously like a Buell Blast! handlebar.

If it's close, then I could probably pick one of those up fairly cheap over here.

I think some confusion has crept in, Bikemaster have given that 'bar the name "European"

That is not the same as us talking about the European market OE genuine Yamaha XS1100 Standard handlebars, which was the question asked

Does anyone have a part number?

Or better yet, one they will part with?

            Thank you,

TomB, I should have been more clear.

I want the dimensions of the European standard model handlebars, same as the top bar in Eveready's picture.

I understand the Bikemaster bar shares no commonality to the Yamaha part in question.

              Btw, who's on first??

Brian, I just put my bike back into summer mode so I got some measurements of these for you

                [IMG][/IMG]

Measurements are approximate but they'll give you the idea of the shape of them. I used the size chart from Bikemaster to get the reference points needed

                [IMG][/IMG]

                Ok
                width - 27"
                rise - 4.25"
                control width - 5"
                height - 4"
                pull back - 6"

                Hope that helps

I could never stand those buckhorn shaped bars on my 81 Venturer, replaced them with aftermarket standard bar in black for about 40 bucks. HUGH improvement.

you will find that the Euro bars fitted to the Yamaha RD400 are the same. they are available on ebay, brand new and cheaper than rechroming the oem ones.
