  • Plexifairing 3 or Plexistar 2

I'm looking to buy a windshield for my XJ1100. I've used the Plexifairing 3 and Plexistar 2's in the past on a few bikes and was happy with the results. Any feedback on these two shields for the XJ11, likes, dislikes, any wind buffeting?

    Windsheild

I just put a ple 3 on my xs1100 special and it works just fine. Was real easy to put on and it handles speed up to 85 OK. So that is the best one I could find.

        How true!

True, but my piece of crap 82' enviroment friendly speedo only goes to 85 mph even though I can peg it in 3rd gear.

hahah... yeah, the dang slowmeter. I was just thinking if I knew a windshield wouldn't hold up past 85, I don't think I'd ever put it on my bike....

Is it just me or is it hard sometimes to keep the XS under 85 on the interstate?

It's not you. I'll find that I'm cruzzzzin at around 70/75 in kick back mode. Next thing you know I'm at 85/90. Every now and agian the temptation comes up to give er some gas BUT I've never taken er above 140. Front end started feeling really light (I guess the fairing acts as a wing) so It was time to slow down. I don't believe those old test reports of top end speed of 134. I think that the results were very under rated. ( There was still more there at 140 ) My fairing has the original veter plexi. and it does fine at high speeds. No shuttering although it does sag down on top at about 90.
