Thanks very much Ray I will certainly give this a try as mack also believes it will be beneficial. And thank you for the tips on buying the correct oil for my bike. I plan on doing that change in the next couple of days and I will later add an update as to how the leaks have changed.

Thanks mack for sharing the method of removing the starter cover and starter. I will certainly take a look at those holes you mentioned behind the crankcase cover and make sure that there is no blockage.

Great responses on my first response. I thank you all for your help.

      Hey there Kasim,

Congrats on your acquisition, that's a big order for being your first motorcycle! I'm hoping you have already taken the Motorcycle Safety Foundation riding/driving course with their provided little motorcycles.

Okay, for some assistance....with regards to the ACCT, if you haven't already found it, take a look at this thread for info regarding technique, and reasons for doing it, as well as an alternative....your choice.

As stated, the oil galley plug under the Alternator is a simple O-ring. You can get a nice set of VITON O-rings for ~$10.00. Regrettably, I don't believe you'll find the right size/thickness required for the starter/bearing cover, they are a bit larger and thinner, but the set can still come in handy. You want VITON for better resistance to gas/oil vs. Nitrile or natural rubber.

Instead of spending $$ from Yamaha or other official Yamaha parts sources, I remember measuring the ID and OD of those thin O-rings and sourcing them from McMaster-Carr. I'll have to check my computer/s to see if I can find the documentation of the sizes I found that fit. And when putting them back on and the bearing cover back IN, you'll want to slather it up well with engine OIL to make sliding into place easier and less chance of pinching it...it's a snug fit!

As for the valve cover gasket, many folks don't even bother with a formal gasket, they just use the aforementioned sealants. Another leak point is the head cam machining ports on the right side...those 1/2 circle pieces are rubber coated pieces of aluminum, but like the CCT, the rubber can harden/shrink and then not seal as well against the valve cover. They can be replaced, but if the rubber is still intact, you can take them out of the head, and coat them with the same sealant, will help them stick up a little higher to better seal with the cover.

I thought Greg/BA80 had posted the OEM # for the bearing cover O-rings?

Anyways, I found the info about the equivalent sizes on McMaster-Carr.

          OEM: 93210-61362-00 O-RING Bearing cover x 2
          1.9mm x 60.5mm

          McMaster: 9262K699 2.0mm x 60mm Buna-N 250 degrees

The locknut on the cam chain tensioner is loose, it could let the bolt back out.
