  • Well I replaced my 79 1100F

My 1100 is a fantastic bike I bought in 2009 and fixed it up very nicely. All stock except Jardine mufflers. Ran perfect- very powerfull but I have always wanted a 4 valve per cyl GS1100E.

Im gonna miss the Yamaha- always ran like a top and pulled hard.

My new 1983 1100E has 14,000miles on it and yes- the carbs are finally tuned for the APE pods and V&H 4 into 1 (blue pipes a bummer). This bike pulls so hard and sounds amazing with the exhaust. Redlines at 9500 but Ive yet to go past 8,000. I hope the reliability matches my XS1100. The GS has progressive front springs and rear shocks. The 4 into1 is near new. I traded my XS1100 and a few tools for the suzuki. My Yamaha had 42,000 miles on it.

Had the opportunity to ride the my friends 1100e several years ago. It was slightly modified but still pretty stock. I had to climb the tank in third to get the front wheel back down. He sold it because going to work at over 100 every day was a bad idea.

Its really odd riding an aircooled 4 that is more powerful than an XS1100 but the big Sazook is just that. The red looks awesome. I really like the nimbleness and lighter weight of this GS. Actually it would be cool to own one of each of the big bore classics.

          Beautiful '83E!

I've always preferred the BLUE one ... pictures don't do this color justice ... it looks even better in the flesh.

I previously owned an '85 1150E ... it had it all! Amazing low-end/midrange grunt, and an incredible top-end rush.

Nice find ... you're really going to like your E ...

P.S. I like the fairing, too ... and hey, the blue pipes match the bike, right?
