Sometime back I downloaded the genuine Yamaha XS1100 Service Manual, and while it's been useful, it's also kind of a PITA in a .pdf format. There's no table of contents at the beginning, and I've always just kept page-downing through it 'till I found what I was looking for. So a few days ago I picked up a three ring binder and a three hole punch, and printed the doggone thing.
MY GAWD! I should have done that YEARS ago! The first thing I discovered was the INDEX - all the way in the back. I never page-downed that far before, and I didn't even know it had an index. I moved the index from the back to the front, and I can find virtually anything now in about ten seconds. Plus, it's a lot easier to take out in the garage this way.
If you'd like your own service manual, you can download it here - Yamaha XS1100 Service Manual, but I strongly advise printing it out.
