Hah! That's the color I was going to paint my bike this year, but ended-up redoing the yellow.

Brian's 107hp dyno bike was my inspiration. His was Ford's "Electric Orange", which was offered on the European Ford Focus. I decided I liked GM's "Burnt Orange Metallic", which was a popular color across all makes & models. "Sunset orange", "tangerine", etc., was many names for it. I love it, and maybe will buy another XS to paint the bike in. I can't recall, but XSChop may have his bike in the same color? Special though.

Looks fantastic, and love it the way you have it.

Well, you are going to push the outer fork seals down, aren't you?

Absolutely beautiful job, but I really hoped you were going to come up with the formulation for Macho Maroon... LOL.

Maybe adding a fork brace also? Mack I remember you showing me the bike last summer when it was in pieces all over the property! Great job, it's a real beauty for sure! What are your plans for it now?

                    Restore

Well this one took longer than it should have. The fire in my shop really set it back a year in the beginning. Then the insurance company's clean up crew threw away some stuff and it was hard to know what until i started to reassemble. Search and search only to find stuff missing and had to wait to find the parts on line or on this forum. Then my shoulder gave me problems, then I fractured my right hand, then I had pneumonia and broke three ribs coughing. Just a friggin nightmare.
The colour is called madagascar(sp) gold. It looks like electric pumpkin until it hits sunlight, then it glitters. JeffH has a goldwing the same colour and I liked it so when MM couldn't be replicated I figured I'd go completely different.
I'm waiting on a fork brace so yes the dust covers will be pushed back down after it's installed.
Also waiting for the pingle style petcocks but I'm happy to get this one finally done.
Steve, I took lots of pictures and as promised I'll make a little movie the same as I did for the teardown. I also made lots of video's about various aspects of the restore and as soon as I get high speed internet I'll put them on my utube page. All will have the XS11 logo so you and TC can use them at will.
Thanx for compliments, I'm just glad to have all the parts together and have my shop cleared again! Sort of, still have to put Pablo's bike back together!

                      Billy

I have a full "pacifico" touring package for it, I want to ride it bare for a full season to make sure it has no bugs in it, then I'm going to put the package on it. Probably get rid of the "bat cycle"I bought to take the wife riding. She'd rather pick up dog poop with her bare hands than ride on a bike so it's either get rid of the bike or get rid of her. Hummm, I'm thinking!

Is life that bad that we've lost our sense of humour. Come on, my wife is Irish and she'd have laughed at that!
