    Can i change cams on my xj. Like a set from another motor i have?or do the heads need to be swaped also?(my thinking the cams were sized to the motor they were origanaly put into) TIA.

    I may be wrong but I believe that after a motor is broke in, the cams, cap bearings ect become matched to there location. That's why a good repair manual will say to make sure that you re-place the cam bearings in the same place that they were removed from when reinstalling them. If you must change cams then a plastigauge and micrometer ( picked up cheaply at just about any auto store) will let you know if they're compatible, or if machining is required
