  • 79 xs1100 looses power pull in clutch power back

    Hey,
I did try to find a topic related to my issue.
Hope you guys can help me out.

When riding, everything is fine. Then it looses power like no fuel. As soon as i pull in clutch hold it for a couple of seconds then release it. The bike rides normal again. This can occor once in 100 miles, or 100 times in 10 miles.

I did check fuel. It gets plenty. In fact when it acts up und i pull in cluth and instantly rev the **** out of it.. it does rev instantly and right into redline with no prob.

Like i said all i have to do is pull in clutch for a couple seconds and the bike is fine again.
I am at a lose here... please help.

Well, you have two specific areas to have a look see now. Electrical before fueling my friend. Don't just 'look' at those wires on left side under inspection cover....tug each one every inch. Also unhook the vacuum advance rod from rotaing piece on moer and makw sure it rotates like a wll lubed lazy susan, in otjer words rotates VERY freely. Carbs IS your last place of attack.
