Can somebody clue me in as to what Vetter used to keep the weather out of the headlight bucket once the factory headlight is removed and the WJ pigtail is connected to the wiring inside the headlight bucket? I could just wrap a plastic bag around it I guess but I'd like something more permanent and less half a$$ed. Anybody got a pic of what came with the fairing, some measurements, what it was made of, etc? Please and thanks!

Go to the vetter site, and they may still have the plastic cover they put over the bucket. You may find a plastic coffee can lit will fit, just put on with a wrap of tape.

There was originally a plastic/rubber ring that "snapped" over the bucket. I have seen them on ebay several times. Here's one. I took a piece of old black slacks and sewed up a drawstring cover that works perfectly. Remember that even with the headlight in there, it was never weather-tight. protect the connections with a light coating of dielectric grease to prevent corrosion.

        Hi Billy,
On the Venturer there is no Headlight bucketbehind the fairing. The wires go into a vinyl drawstring bag.

+1 Most all fairings installs transferred the bike's headlight bucket into the fairing. The ears that held the bucket on the bike were left on the forks and the wiring was covered.

Not true. The headlight bucket stays on the bike (if it came with one - of course the Venturer probably didn't, since it came with the fairing installed). the fairing had it's own headlight bucket (made of plastic), that had the angle-adjusting screw mounted to the back of it. The OEM headlight bucket for the XS11 and the Goldwing both remain on the bike when the fairing is installed, but the headlight itself is removed from the bucket and transferred to the fairing.
