Without pics, I'd guess anywhere from $400 to $1K, but no more than that. If it's a 'typical' bike that's complete with all hard-to-find parts and decent cosmetics, then probably $500-800. Bonus if he has the take-off parts from the fairing install.
Fast, Cheap, Reliable... Pick any two

      Before you offer a price....

      My thoughts...

If it runs at all, put it up on the center stand and run it through the gears...

If it has any 1st or 2nd gear troubles, you know it right away...then you can either walk or make a low offer.

I paid $250 for mine delivered...I knew the gear box was toast...after a lot of time and money...

      I hope this helps!

          $500. And I'm happy about it ...

OK. I'm the proud owner of the '78 XS11!
Except for one thing, she looks just like the the 1978 E - Macho Maroon one on our HOME page: http://www.xs11.com/index.php .
Now add a rusty-red-ish Vetter WindJammer SS and that what I got for my $500. I will need the left side-cover and the fuse box on the right side.
So far, so good. Now to do a really close inspection, a tune up, and a test ride.
          Thanks for your help, guys!
