  • New guys info

Whilst browsing my favorite places, I came upon this site.

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B75tGw6GeRjeWUhwcWVqRFBuRTQ/view?pli=1

For those of you who have recently started to revive a neglected XS11, I would suggest that you read this site, since it gives you most of the information that you need to get the bike running in an optimal fashion.
Instead of fixing one thing, riding it and finding out that something else is wrong, take the time to check all aspects of the various systems, and bring them as close to factory specs as you can.
Yes, it takes longer, but the frustration of dealing with operational glitches is alleviated, and you will be rewarded with an XS that fulfills all of the joys and thrills that you hoped for when you acquired the bike.

The first part deals with the 750, but the later part deals with the 1100 in detail.

I don't see it either, but if it goes into detail just how much attention these bikes will likely need these days, I'm all for it.

Even this is now out of date... http://www.xs11.com/faqs/16-what-to-...ed-xs1100.html This far down the road, almost any XS/XJ you find will need a pretty thorough going-over or you'll chase one problem after another. These bikes are all at least 33 years old at this point, and unless it's been very well cared for, pretty much all will need at least some repair/maintenance to most systems. I figure that the carbs, brakes, forks and electrical will all need complete checks/rebuilds and everything else at least checked along with new fluids and repacking of any non-sealed bearings. The days of 'getting it running' and then addressing issues 'as they come up' are over...
Fast, Cheap, Reliable... Pick any two

'78E original owner - resto project
        '78E ???? owner - Modder project FJ forks, 4-piston calipers F/R, 160/80-16 rear tire
        '82 XJ rebuild project
        '80SG restified, red SOLD
        '79F parts...
        '81H more parts...

        Other current bikes:
        '93 XL1200 Anniversary Sportster 85RWHP
        '86 XL883/1200 Chopper
        '82 XL1000 w/1450cc Buell, Baker 6-speed, in-progress project
Cage: '13 Mustang GT/CS with a few 'custom' touches
        Yep, can't leave nuthin' alone...

The link got mangled with quotation marks and one extra HTTP:// causing the link to lose the colon for the real HTTPS:// part of the URL.

Add the colon and it works, otherwise it tries HTTPS// sans colon and fails.

          Mangled link as-posted:-
