  • Need brake pads?

I didn't - but I couldn't resist this deal, and sooner or later I'm gonna need 'em. Can you say front and rear kevlar carbon fiber pads shipped to you for $15.53?! That's three sets of pads for the cost of one set without the shipping included from most places. There's only a few left in stock, so get 'em while they're hot - and available.

    E/F/G/H pads

    SF/SG/SH pads
I think I have a loose screw behind the handlebars.

'79 XS11 Standard, Jardine 4/1, Dyna DC1-1 Coils, 145 mains, 45 pilots, plastic floats - 25.7mm, XV920 fuel valves, inline fuel filters, speed bleeders, Mikes XS pods, spade-type fuse block, fork brace, progressive fork springs/shocks, manual petcocks, 750 FD, Venture cam chain tensioner, SS brake lines

    Da Pads

It won't tell me if these fit the XJ. But if they don't which do you recomend, organic or ceramic?
Just ME and my 82 XJ 1100. Mac 4>1-2 1/2" open baffle shotgun, no octy, K&N pod filters, LED tail/brake light & directionals, 750 FD mod, Ear Cannon air horn, modified bars and dash. I think the XJ uses different pads. I'd probably stick with organic. It's getting hard to find rotors for these old bikes so it's wise to stay away from anything that will eat into the rotors. I've never seen ceramic pads for these bikes, and I don't know how they would act. Maybe someone else will weigh in on that.

Navy bike has lightweight EBC full-floating rotors so I would not worry about wearing out your rotors. Good excuse to upgrade and lose some excess rotating mass.

You'll loose some mass in your wallet too. They look to be about $400 a set to me.

I have a guy here. Have not used him in a while. Last time I did, he can resurface, drill hole patterns, and repaint the center black.

I originally gave him one to see if resurfacing would straighten it out. It was bent too far to repair. He sold me one he had in stock that he had done all of the above to for $145. New EBCs are $200+.

Don't worry- D2Moto has been selling the Kevlar-Carbon pads for at least a few years now, and I doubt there are only 3 left.

I bought two sets for my XS750s and I am quite happy with them. Can't beat the price!

I had sintered pads on one of those bikes, and nothing stopped better than the sintered pads,... but they galled the rotors and they SQUEALED so bad everyone stared at intersections...and I couldn't stand it myself.

Funny you should mention availability. When I ordered pads last night they showed three sets available, and I checked again afterwards and it was down to two. Just for grins I checked it a couple hours later and it was back up to three again. Devilish clever those Amazon marketers. But to tell the truth it wasn't the limited availability that pushed me over the edge - it was the price.

I hear you on squeaky brakes - worse than fingernails on a blackboard. My brother's G has a pretty good squeal to it, and he ordered a set of these today. Maybe they'll fix his issue. I rebuilt his complete brake system for him, but he bought the wrong pads, and I had to make do with what I had. When they squealed I told him it was a safety feature so the cagers would know he's about to stop.
