    Battery requirements

Ok, hadn't posted here in who knows how long. Tells ya how good this bike is. Anywho, anyone know why the battery has a center tap on it for 6V? I presume its for 6V.
Whew, more work here than I thought!!!

What you may have is one of those batteries with a water level sensor. It's supposed to work with a warning light to tell you when the battery water level is low so you don't ruin the battery.

A 12V/6V tapped battery would be something to see, they're for older vehicles with 6V systems that have been converted to 12V. Or possibly for a 6V bank of batteries in a golf cart or a motorized wheelchair.
