  • xs11 history

I have had mine since 78, had all the mc mags about the xs11.
i was up to a mc junkyard today, talking about an xs11, guy working there said that for a couple of months at the begining of the 1978 run, they made a xs1000.
and that t hey were real rare.
i told him i know that they advertised the new xs11 as an 1000, before they hit the showrooms, but they came out as an 1100 from the start.

    anyone know of a xs1000 in 78 ??

While early media reports were for a 'XS1000' and there were a few prototype pics circulated, Yamaha never sold one.
