  • My solution to a key problem

So what do you get when you cross an XS11 with an elephant? A motorcycle with a trunk, of course. And I just installed one on Betsy, which leaves me with a second key to keep track of. I don't like to have keys flipping around in the breeze as it tends to chew up the handlebar clamp (even though some PO up the line already did a pretty good job of that.) So I drilled a 1/8" hole through the new trunk key, and pop riveted it to the ignition key. Now both keys are permanently attached together, and when I get around to repainting the handlebar clamp I won't have a key knocking the paint back off.

I think I have a loose screw behind the handlebars.

It does look kind of vicious, but I figure if something causes my eye to get down that low while I'm riding I'll probably have bigger problems to worry about.
