    Well...stuff happens!

    Here I am, sitting at a well liked destination that I like to find myself at.....a riverside picnic area. Perfect day for riding, 80 deg. low humidity....wonderful. After a good rest, it's time to return home. About 35 miles in front of me....I get on my ride (1100). Start her up...all is well up to this point. I get ready to take off and no throttle! Son-Of-A-.....! Well this has happened before, but only in the man cave. Throttle cable end has come out of the carb. arm again! Last time I fixed that, I had the seat off, tank half way up.......No tools this time out! Well story shortened..........I find a strong long thin stick, push up on one of the carb arms.....and manage to get that little lead bit at the end of the cable back into the carb. arm!!!!!!!!!! Yeeeeeh! off I go back to the man cave and some adjustments. One can't be weak of heart when owning one of these old girls.

    Tools.... they're what separate us from the animals. Glad you got her going.
    I think I have a loose screw behind the handlebars.

              I've owned three shovelhead harleys over the years....always kept a few sticks in the tool bag....

                Adjustments made.....now for the nest hick-up! Maybe I should get a riders bell for it!

                      This is why I'm glad mine came with the factory tool kit. I have enough tools to fix anything small enough on the side of the road to get me home. Everything else I let my towing insurance take care of.

                            Been there done that! Been known to use a stick and even a chunk of blacktop to "adjust" things.

                            Hide a bundle of these in the bike. They really come in handy.

                            Maybe use one to keep the throttle cable end in place.

                            1) Fire up Internet Explorer
                            2) http://www.yahoo.com
                            3) type "www.mapquest.com" into the Yahoo search page.
                            4) go about day as VP managing multi-million dollar financial contracts.

                              Done that.

                              I thought about that Diskman...good idea! I made an adjustment on the cable near, the handlebar end.
