I replaced all the butterfly shaft seals. It did not appear to have any effect which suggests that my previous propane test wasn't all that bad as there does not appear to have been a vacuum leak. I got some of the needle valves for the carb syncronizer, they worked perfectly thanks for the tip! The carbs are now sycronized which smoothed out the idle somewhat but they were not that far off to begin with and they are still not perfect. There is still the underlying issue where the bike seems to be rich and will run, and run well with the butterfly valves in full closed position (Idle adjust screw all the way out). The bike still runs best with plugs installed where the Pilot Air Jets go. If the plugs are removed and the stock size air jets installed the idle still goes to 5-6k rpm and stays there. I am thinking that with the better intake I may need to downsize the pilot fuel jet at the same time.
