  • Colortune fix

So when I got ready to adjust carbs last week I found that the copper crush washer on my Colortune had stretched to the point that it no longer provided a seal. I thought I was going to have to wait for a replacement from England, but the solution was simple and right in front of me the whole time.

There's nothing special about that copper washer, and regular old spark plug gasket works just fine. In fact, I think it works better. And unlike the "stock" copper washer, a plug gasket will stay on the Colortune so there's no more fishing around for the copper washer that usually gets left behind when you remove the Colortune.

I took a gasket off an old plug, which is kind of a PITA. A new gasket would be best, but an old one will work after you wrestle it off the old plug. So if your Colortune crush washer has stretched, and you need a replacement, chances are you've already got one. Just passing it along.
I think I have a loose screw behind the handlebars.
