  • Problem when i went to start up the bike.

So I was going to go out on my normal weekly monday ride and when i went to start the bike i did what i usually do, full choke and turn on.

So the bike started right up, then the rpms went up to 3,000 and then the bike turned off

no electronics now like if there is no battery. But the bike started

battery has charge, where should i look?

    Hey there,

Well, your post has been up for a few minutes, so there are probably several folks typing answers at the same time! Okay, started, increased rpm's as it warmed up, and then shut off/died. Then you say no electronics...but we need a little better description of this situation.

You turn the ignition key to ON...does NOTHING LIGHT UP??
Or do the dash lights/neutral light work, but nothing happens when you hit the starter button?

Anyways.. there is a MAIN FUSE in the right OEM GLASS FUSE holder...IF you still have the GLASS FUSES and holders...that's the 1st place to start, to replace it with SOLID ATCO style fuses/holder!

IF FUSE OKAY, but NO LIGHTS/Power to the DASH....then main ignition key switch may have failed..wires come unsoldered?

IF dash lights, but no starter action....check the EMERGENCY shut off switch on the handlebar...can corrode and fail...can bypass to TEST!

Went out to garage and checked fuses. Looks very old. and yes they are the old style. I actually tried to take some of the fuses out and the points that hold the fuses just broke off.

The lights do not come on anymore, no neutral light no start. Like if it didn't have a battery.

Can you guys point me in the right direction on what to buy
