    Yes and no.

    It will be very tight fit. The seats for a Special have a longer "tounge" that sticks out over the sloped tank. Standards have a tank that is more upright and their seats don't stick out so far.

    I've used seats from each on the other and just pulled edge back when fitting in place but you can permanently alter it under the cover.

      there is also the issue of the ignition box on the standard especially the seat cowl covers it my bad I see you have an 80G

        The owner assures me that the seat is from a Standard but yet when I asked for a pic he sent me a pic of the seat on a Special, go figure. The only reason I am interested in this seat is so I can strap luggage to it on longer rides (I am not particularly interested in the disco styling, although it is the epitome of retro). Maybe I should just buy some soft bags and call it a day.

          The seats for the '80-81 standard and '79 Special will interchange. You have the issue with the longer 'nose' that John mentioned, and you might have slight interference with the ignition box under the seat, but I doubt it.
