  • Middle Gear Oil

Mine has leaked a little since replacing my gear box. Is putting to much in bad or should I just add a bit? Just got my first 100 miles on it and my first bike. Thanks.

If you add too much it will blow it out the vent and make a mess. Fill it up some with gear oil and check with the dipstick, make your own if you don't have one....

... Or you could go here and print out 10 disposable dipsticks for the middle/final drives:

      Marshall Ringler's Website

On the right side of the page, scroll down into the "Resources for riders" section and you will find the link for the dipsticks.

By the way, the factory manual calls for 12 oz. in the middle drive and 10 oz. in the final drive.

And I suggest using 75W-140 synthetic gear oil (it helps the drives run cooler) ... some have used Royal Purple, but my choice is Redline gear oil.
