    fork tube cap lip snaped

    As I was torquing the adjustable fork tube cap on my 79f, the lip that runs around the top of the cap snapped off I saw that the non adjustable tube caps dont have this ring so is it still safe to use until I can get a new cap? Can I use some 3 bond to fix it temporarily?

          I tried a cap From an 81H and it did not fit a 78E.
          Skids (Sid Hansen)

          Down to one 1978 E. Stock air box with K&N filter, 81H pipes and carbs, 8500 feet elevation.

                  Not good. You need a replacement. Don't mess around with a defective fork. Contact member andreasweiss here on the site as he has many spare parts.
