    Thanks to all here, Andreas, John....everyone really.....rode about ten miles today, totally outlaw...couldn't wait....runs nice......plenty of power, idles nice, shifts into second......still need a few things, correct bars, seat cover, ACCT and such but a very good feeling to ride her around, I'm sure you all 'get it'.......

      No kiddin....I dont even know where they came from but I had to take off the "apes" that were on it and thats what was hanging around in the shop....i feel like I'm sitting in an old wooden chair..straight up.....

          Congratulations

          It really looks good, cleaned right up and just a few more bucks and its there!

            While many of us can also lay claim to spending less than $400, there are far more who have spent major bucks. I know a few of mine just needed a few parts and tweaking. Some of them required major rebuilds too.
            The only thing I can say as another cheapskate is to not try to save where safety is important. Does not take a lot of bucks to fix brakes but can cost you your life sort of thing. Use your money wisely.

              Great job! On the cheap or not, you have saved another fine XS11...and its already worth more than the sum of it's parts...

                Yea, definitely dont skimp on the important stuff....I'm not really trying to do it cheap, just working out that way...i'm never in a rush, can always wait for the right deal....really enjoy bringing bikes back to life.....
