  • XS11 petcock replacement

Been after a simple on off reserve petcock replacement for the xs1100. I think the xs650 will fit but the fuel line will point in the rong direction on one side.

The current standard peacocks I have would need to be rebuilt so I would rather replace with new or newer on of reserve type.

Or open to any other suggestions.
    Thanks

Unless yours are completely trashed, it will be cheaper to rebuild the OEM petcocks rather than replace them. Another source for the kits is here: http://www.georgefixs.com/2-xs360-xs...-petcock-kits/

The guy I bought my '78 from replaced the vac ones with manuals. Been working fine for 4 years now with the adapter plates and manual ones. The spacing gets a bit close as the adapter plates are like 9/16 thick blocks. Needed to get creative with the lines and filters.

Only issue I have is that the reserve/run is either 180 off or not. Or different from one side to the other. I never did figure out which way is what. I always refill at about 80 miles on the clock so I never hit reserve. On long trips, I flip on one the labelled reserve and the other on run. Since I run two carbs per petcock, one will start sputtering so in theory one will start sputtering (run) so the other one will be reserve. Just flip the sputtering one around and find a gas station. Or, drain the tank Saturday and actually figure it out.

Are there rebuild kits for the original vac ones? I have a spare tank with the originals installed. I'm a lazy person and having the vac would be interesting.
