This may be somewhat trivial but I'm curious about the paint on this Midnight Special I just got. The black on the tank & fenders apears to have had a clearcoat sprayed on with a slight amount of rose colored metalflake in it. It's real fine and it has to be in direct lighting to see it. I looked at another one while searching and the young fella who owned it also said there was a metalic in it. This clear/metalic coat is not very thick since I was useing some fine rubbing compound to try & remove a mark on the front fender & I rubbed right through to the solid black.
Anyway, I'm probably going to repaint it this winter and want to replicate what ever was original. I bought this off the original owner & he said it's all original,which given the condition, I tend to believe. Anyone else have one of these that's that's noticed this also?
