  • is this engine good?

Hey guys, so theres an engine up for sale that im thinking about getting. it has pretty low miles 5,402 to be exact. now the compression readings the guy says were for cylinders 1 and -120psi and 3 and 4 were 110. these readngs were cold readings. so does this sound good, the manual says th readings shouldnt differ more than 14psi and as some of you guys may know im having trouble with my engine and need to get a running bike really soon as i have road trip coming. so just wanted some second oopionis on the compression readings thx in advance

It sounds ok. Don't take the seller at his word (unless you know them well). Check the compression your self if you can. Ask about the gears (if first or second pops out) not a deal breaker but fix it before swapping the engines.

The engine sounds fine as-long as everything else is okay on it. I see your point on swapping engines. Or, if the engines match, just swap the head off the engine onto your's. Can you confirm the tranny is okay on the one in your bike?
