  • Thanks Dad!

I sold my XS RH Sports in 2011 (not a wise decision) and early last year I also sold my Suzi GSX1400 to fund a overseas holiday with my wife. Since then I've been bikeless Well the other month my dad invites me around for a beer and takes me out into his garage and pulls the cover off his latest project, a 81' XS 1.1 RH. He's rebuilt the entire bike from the ground up (it was a neglected mess when he bought it on ebay cheap about 4 years ago). It's not 100% finished, he still wants to paint the tank (I like it in its current scheme though), do the manifolds, put a better exhaust on it and bling it a bit more but its finished enough to ride and she rides really really well. Nice and loud with excellent compression and good road manners.
I like his retirement hobby, restoring old Japanese muscle bikes (he has 3 XS's, 1 in show room condition a 1980 GSX750 cafe racer and some other project).
I took the old girl for a 300k ride the other weekend and it never missed a beat
